His Name

YaHshua's Name -- is it Found in Scripture?
Part 2
by Dan L Baxley

After reading Part 1 -- More Details and Considerations

First let's set some ground rules of understanding concerning the Name and Names of our Creator -- the God and Original author of Torah (first five books of the Old Testament): The Creator and God of Israel has a Name and this Name is composed of four letters and these four letters are called the Tetragrammaton (This term is actually from the Greek, meaning four i reference to the four lettered Name of the Hebrew God). This term is used by biblical scholars in reference to the four letters Y-H-W-H, these letters represent the Hebrew characters and are an English transliteration of the Hebrew and is pronounced, as a transliteration, as YaHWeH.

In ancient Hebrew (Paleo Hebrew, before modern Hebrew) the "four letters" appear differently from what we see in "four letters" of Modern Hebrew. These "four letters" have been replaced by the scribes and translators of scripture with the title "LORD" in capital letters through out all of the English translations -- in effect, replacing the Name of the Creator God with a title. This practice is a “tradition, a custom”, if you will, of the established Biblical Scholars, both on the Jewish side as well the Christian side. This is the first clue you get that not all is right in the world of Hebrew/English scholarship. This one thing should alert the careful reader to the possibility, no, not the possibility, but the fact the Scribes have changed the Name, changed the "glory of His name" for the glory of another an name we should be "declaring" His Name as we are told our Savior is going to do --

(Heb 2:12) Saying, I will declare thy name unto my brethren, in the midst of the church will I sing praise unto thee.
(Psa 22:22) I will declare thy name unto my brethren: in the midst of the congregation will I praise thee.

The rule of "transliteration" is violated when the Scriibes, Priests, and Pharisees deal with the written Word. This is the simple rule, it is understood the Jewish scribes substituted the word "adonia" or "adonay" which means "lord" in the English and they have replaced the tetragrammaton, YHWH, with "LORD". Today if you check any of the Hebrew Scriptures translated to English you will see this YHWH as "LORD", just as in the English translations by the Christians. They, the Jewish and the Christian scholars are doing exactly the same thing with one exception -- when you go to the Hebrew Scriptures you will see the tetragrammaton in the four letters of His Name -- as presented in the example below. We need to understand this business of "transliterations" in order to see how twisted things have gotten. You can see from the example the letters, "Y" "H" "W" "H" are English Transliterations of the Hebrew letters for His Name.

Hebrew Bible
The Tetragrammaton occurs 6,828 times in the Hebrew text of both the Biblia Hebraica and Biblia Hebraica Stuttgartensia. The only books it does not appear in are the Song of Songs, Ecclesiastes, and Esther. It first appears in the Hebrew text in Genesis 2:4.The letters, properly read from right to left (in Biblical Hebrew), are:
Hebrew
Letter name
Pronunciation
'
Yodh
"Y"
?
He
"H"
?
Waw
"W" or placeholder for "O"/"U" vowel (see mater lectionis)
?
He
"H" (or often a silent letter at the end of a word)

They, the scribes, have exchanged the "four letters" of our Creator's Name for a different set of four letters, in effect, changing His Name, the Name of the God of Israel, YHWH, pronounced as YaHWeH, not Yeweh. Jewish scholars have stumbled over this name as they have the Name given to our Savior, YaHshua. What is claimed is the Name Yahshua does not appear in the Hebrew, but the name Yeshua does, they say. Now that you have seen the Name of the Creator God of Israel and of the Holy Bible as YHWH, a transliteration of the Hebrew and pronounced as YaHWeH we can proceed to the English Transliteration Joshua of the English Bibles as well as the Jewish transliterations in their English translations.
What do we find? We see the "OLD ENGLISH" transliteration, JOSHUA, in both the English Bibles and the JPS Tanakh and the Masorietic Text. But what about the Hebrew? When we go to this name "Joshua" in the Hebrew Dictionary we come up with YeHoshua, but in the text of the modern Hebrew they tell us it is pronounced (transliterated) as "Yeshua". They, meaning the Jewish Rabbis, Orthodox and Ultra Orthodox Jews, insist on a name different from that of "JOSHUA" which is, in the modern transliteration, YeHoshua. Over time letters and sounds of letters change and need to be corrected. The Old English transliteration, Joshua, used to be pronounced "Yoshua" and this has been corrected in the modern transliteration. Now we come to why it is important to understand the Tetragrammaton, the four letters of our Creator's Name, YHWH. The Name is actually two parts unified, YH then WH and you see the YH as "iah" in many of the names in the Bible. The Greek "i" was the ancient transliteration for the Hebrew character represented by the English "Y", which is today more accurate. Knowing and seeing this part of the Name used in other names and in the following verse we can be confident YH (YaH) is proper and acceptable and it is part of our Savior's Name.

(Psa 68:4) Sing unto God, sing praises to his name: extol him that rideth upon the heavens by his name JAH, and rejoice before him. KJV

Remember, the "J" came from the English and the German translations as a distortion of the Greek and Latin "i", none of which bear any likeness to an accurate transliteration for today. Knowing this, the verse just quoted would more accurately be printed as YaH. We need to remember, the "a" and the "e" are only vowels to assist in the pronunciation of the transliteration. This is exactly what we find in the Strong's Hebrew Dictionary for the name Joshua -- H3091, YeHoshua and it is very obvious the "H" is present but not when you ask the Jew as they insist Yeshua is the proper form, or transliteration. Pronounce the two and then ask yourself, do these two names sound alike? Of course they don't and therefore they fail as transliterations of the admitted original YeHoshua. In the name Yeshua, as in the name Jesus the all important part of His Glorified Name is missing, the "H". This is why you cannot ignore His name in the English transliteration, YHWH. AS concerns the Name YaHshua, you will notice the Y and the H are present, and the vowel used is the "a" because in today's English this is a much better vowel to use in hearing the a more correct transliteration. In the ancient of days the "e" vowel was to be pronounced in what is called the "long" form and sound very much like the modern "a" vowel and we see this vowel used consistantly when pronouncing the Tetragrammatio, YHWH as, YaHWeH. The "e" vowel of today delivers a distortion being sounded out as in the word "yes" when it should be as in the word "yawh". With this corrected we can safely go to the transliteration of the Hebrew Name as YaH (YH) and thus, YaHshua.

With this understood we should be able to determine why we do not find the Name of our Savior in the Torah with the spelling ,YaHshua, they have dropped the "H" as a scribal error, or on purpose, we do find a spelling for Yeshua in place of the more correct, YeHoshua (Some say, YaHushua) recognized by those supporting the name Yeshua as the ORIGINAL NAME. This latter spelling, YeHoshua, is His Name and is admittedly found in the Hebrew but the argument is that His Name, spelled as YaHshua is not found but the other name, replacing it, is correct? Incredible, as both Names, YaHshua, or YeHoshua, in either spelling means -- YH is Salvation, declaring just whom the Savior or the originator of Salvation is. The replacement name, Yeshua, drops the "H" from the name and this changes the Name to "another" name altogether.
Now get this, as it gets even stranger, the argument that the Name YaHshua does not appear in the Hebrew Scriptures is over one letter -- the letter "O", some say "U", and because this letter is not included in the transliteration YaHshua it is therefore somehow wrong. The critics seem to forget the rules of transliteration, while they promote the use of the name Yeshua, ignoring the fact that they have dropped not one letter but two in their transliteration. The name Yeshua is not the name of the son of Nun in the Book of Joshua, no, his transliterated name is Yehoshua, not Yeshua and it is not Jesus either. It is this Name YaHoshua, or YaHushua, or YeHoshua that was given to our Savior at birth and all three of these transliterations are far more accurate than Yeshua or the name Jesus.

All over one letter that does not change the name at all, it may change a slight variation in pronunciation, which one might find depending upon a dialect spoken that invades the language of people of different nations. One thing I hope to prove, with good reasoning, and some facts, is that the Name “Yeshua”, the scholars say is found in the Hebrew, is misdirection and an attempt at hiding the true and complete Name of our Creator. I may repeat myself some but when I do it is because it is worth repeating, so stick with me as we continue to pick this apart.

Four Letters of His Glorious Name
The "four letter" Name, YHWH, and its pronunciation, is usually avoided by those responsible for the copying of the Torah (Hebrew Bible). Not all of the Jewish scholars believe this, but there is a majority of practicing Jews that believe the "four letters" are too sacred to mention and protect this by using, or saying "adonai" (spelling of this term varies, adonai is of Greek/Latin influence and “adonay” is of Jewish or Hebrew influences). This term, adonay, means "Lord", or "Master", the same definition as the four letters LORD. YHWH does not mean "Lord" or Master", it is a given that our Creator and the Creator of all things is Master of all, Lord of all, bu that is not His Name. YHWH is literally means, or states that YH is Creator. YH, as the personal Name of our Creator, is indefinable and is in reference to the Creator, and sustainer of all things seen and unseen -- period.

The first two letters of the Tetragrammaton (YH, YaH) is found in the Savior's birth Name -- anything between these first two letters is a vowel, supplied by the translator, or scribes, and not part of the actual Name -- it is a perceived aid as some use the vowel "a" and others the "e". The constant, however, is the two letter representation of our Creator's and our Heavenly Father's personal Name, YH -- a Name He has given Himself. Vowels aid in pronunciation and is not part of the Sacred Name in its purist form.

Some wish to use the pronunciation Yeshua as this is what is found in the Torah, as copied by the scribes. It should be realized, the scribes, the copyist and the publishing houses added the vowel "e" at their own discretion. You will notice the obvious, the second letter of the Tetragrammaton, "H", has been dropped and essentially replaced with the "e" vowel. Where is the second letter of the Tetragrammaton? Why has if been dropped? When the critics howl the transliteration YaHshua does not appear in the Bible because it is missing the "O" and you point out they are championing the name Yeshua and it drops both the "H" and the "O", they then say Yeshua is the short form of YeHoshua. I told you it keeps getting stranger and stranger.

When you go to the definition of Yehoshua, a name found in several place of the Hebrew Scriptures, you will see it is the same as YaHoshua, also found in the Hebrew Scriptures and you will see another thing -- in the Hebrew Dictionary you will be given this pronunciation, Yah - shoo - ah, for the name Yeshua, now you explain that? Here is where logic comes in and it is your mental abilities that should show you the truth. The name in the Hebrew Scripture, reproduced by the Hebrew Scribes is Yeshua, but it is to be pronounced, Yahshua or as the dictionary has it, Yah-shoo-ah. Amazing but true, the scribes have dropped the second letter, so when you read Yeshua in the Hebrew or otherwise you should be saying, YaHshua according to the Hebrew Dictionary and is that what they are doing? Nope, and to prove this for the hard of seeing and hearing, is the definition and its pronunciation as seen in an earlier copy of Strong's Hebrew Dictionary --

H3442 -- For Yeshua
ye^shu^a?
yah-shoo'-ah
For H3091; he will save; Jeshua, the name of two Israelites, also of a place in Palestine: - Jeshua.
In the Strong's Concordance with Hebrew/GreeK difinitions, 1995 edition we see the following change:
3442 --Yeshuwa', yay-shoo'-ah

This led me to look a little deeper so I turned to "The Complete Wordstudy Dictionary, Old Testament", and came up with this:

3442 -- yesua: a proper noun designating Jeshua
This being followed by several references A through K of where this name was used A. A Priest B. A Levite, etc.. Proceeding down the page I found the following:
3443 -- yesua: An Aramaic proper nound designating Jeshua (Ezra 5:2). It corresponds to the Hebrew 3442.
3444 -- y e su ah: A feminine noun meaning salvation, deliverance, help, victory, prosperity.
3445 -- yesah: A masculine noun denoting emptiness; dung (?). It is a strong word used to illustrae the corrupt, immoral condition of God's people because of their faiure to be His moral, ethical, just people. The exact meaning is not yet clear, but its sense is evident in the context.

I will leave it up to the reader to decide which of these terms and difinitions some Jews mean, when they are forced to refer to the Christian Savior?

One final source before moving on:
Looking in, Vine's Complete Expository dictionary of old and New Testament Words, page 215, y e su'ah, 3444, "salvation." "... refers primarily to Gods acts of help which have already occurred and be experienced ---- The noun t e su'ah also means "salvation". I'm throwing this in as a point of interest and a small demonstration this word, name, or term is dependant upon the first letter as between these two, yesuah and tesuah the meaning is derived from "suah" as in "shua", another transliteration, to mean "salvation". The first is used in reference to God's acts of "salvation" and the second example is "... frequently joined with responses of thanksgiving and rejoicing -- Tesu'ah, therefore. is sometimes rendered "deliverance", victory, as well as "salvation". This is to make the point that "salvation" is noted by the use of "su'ah", like "shua" and is applied toward the first character applied. As in the case of our Savior, YaHshua, or, YaHsuah, if you prefer. We must not forget, the dropping of the "H". If this term, "yesuah", or yeshua, is to be used as a name the consonant "H" must be restored making it, YaHshua, which is to say, YH is Salvation.

Can this be any plainer? The very name the Jews want us to use, and the name many Christians are beginning to use, as the new truth unfolds, is actually supposed to be pronounced as YaHshua and do they, no they do not, but instead they turn on anyone using this pronunciation saying YaHshua is not found in the Torah. Next you will see term, used as a name, Yeshua, is tied directly to H3091 which is the name used for the commonly known old English transliteration, "Joshua", which is then pronounced as YeHoshua -- does anyone see the connection and what is going on here. And to further back this up, we see the difinition and the pronunciation for the Name our Savior in this Name -- and it is the Name of the man that led Israel into the Promised land -- a Christ type of the true One to come. It is also the name given to the Priest/King, YaHoshua (Joshua), at the rebuilding of the Second Temple, another Christ (Messiah) type of the One to come -- please read, Zech 3:8; 6:11-13, then check out this Name as seen and identified in the Scripture, remembering, the name "JOSHUA" is the Old English "transliterations" of our Savior's name, it has been in the Scriptures all along:

H3091- For Joshua
yeho^shu^a? yeho^shu^a?
yeh-ho-shoo'-ah, yeh-ho-shoo'-ah
Jehovah-saved; Jehoshua (that is, Joshua), the Jewish leader: - Jehoshua, Jehoshuah, Joshua.

Note: Remember the Greek influence eventually led to the Hebrew "Y" being tranliterated into the Greek "I" which eventually became the English "J" (German influence from Luther's translation) which is anything but a transliteration. Thus, the "J" letter appearing in the lines of definition from the Strong's dictionary should be updated tom the Hebrew English transliterated "Y" and not the "J" as seen above -- merely pronounce the "J" as "Y" as in Yod, or Yawn. Notice the names themselves are not presented in the dictionary with the "J". This is another example of the scholars muddying the waters.

From this we should easily see the name given to our Savior is in plain sight, even as an Old English transliteration it is nothing like the bogus name, JESUS, inherited from the Latin. This is like a mystery novel entitled "The Case of the Missing Letter", but in this case it is not a mystery, men have decided, in their own wisdom, to drop part of our Savior's Name. The Name of our Savior is weakened by the dropping a letter from His Name, a letter that points toward His Father and His true Birth Name. The Christian community has gone along with this as it fits nicely along side the accepted but bogus name "Jesus". The Jews are only too happy to have the Gentiles using the incorrect name Jesus but if they get too close they are happy to supply the false name Yeshua.

In many prefaces found at the front of most Bible translations, you will find the excuse why the translators have decided not to use the Sacred Name of the God of Israel -- in most cases they say they are following the "traditions of the fathers" – excusing themselves by following the practice of the fatherly scholars before them (Acts 7:51). A prime example of this is found in the preface to the NIV Bible. Ultimately, this "tradition" comes down to the Christian translators from the Jewish scribes and from the Roman/Greeks a people all too anxious to change names to suit themselves or to make a foreign god their god, their property, so to speak.

The Translators on both side of the aisle have decided not to use the true identity of the Creator, the Creator of all the things, having identified Himself to Moses, giving him a name to declare for all generations to the people and Moses did just that, and just as the Apostles of the Christ preached in His Birth Name -- but the people, Israel, and soon the Christians too, refusing, in their own wisdom, purging the Father's Name from Scripture and from that of His Son. The Christians have gone the Jewish Scribes one better -- they have changed the Name and the true identity of our Savior, changing it completely to something else. Realize this one thing and you will begin to see through the deception and the lie. Contrary to what they say it does matter (Act 4:12, Rom 4:11, Php 2:9-11).

So, the answer to the question is, the reason you do not find "YaHshua" but you do find “Yeshua” and “YeHoshua” is -- the scribes and translators decided to use the "e" vowel instead of the "a" vowel and decided to drop part of the Sacred Name altogether by leaving the second letter of the Creator's name on the floor, so to speak. In their efforts to treat the Name as too sacred to use they have "profaned" it by making the it useless, by hiding it, covering it and resorting to mutilating His Holy Name. Isn't it odd, the name they propose, Yeshua, is supposed to be sounded out as YaHshua (YaH shoo ah)? And it is this Name they oppose? How crazy is that?

The Savior's Name is found in the Hebrew Scriptures, as the original question suggests, in two different forms and it is a small argument to worry over a "vowel", of being "one point" to the left or to the right. When being pronounced, whether the "a" vowel or the "e" vowel, the Name itself is maintained as YH, and YHWH -- No on suggests you pronounce the English transliteration of the Holy Name, YaHWeH as YeWeH, no one, and you never see the pronunciation of the Tetragrammaton as YeHWeH either. It is this Name that confirms the proper and original name of our Savior, YaHshua. You pronounce it YeHushua, or YaHushua, go right ahead, both are pretty good transliterations of the Original -- forget about what the scribes have done, look back into the Hebrew Dictionary and you see evidence for yourself.

The travesty is what the Christians have done, they acknowledge the God of Israel, for the most part, as YHWH (YaHWeH) but refuse the Savior's Identity, replacing it with a different name entirely. They have one-upped the Hebrew scholars changing the Name of our Lord completely, from YaHshua (Joshua) to "Jesus" a name alien to the Scriptures, a name added, a name that did not exist until 400 - 500 years ago. They admit it is from the Greek, Insous, changed later to Iesous, then the Latins got it and changed it to Iesvs, the Iesus, and then the Martin Luther, using a hooked "i" (the i and the j were interchangeable back in the day) was picked up by the English translators and printers and created the new name "Jesus" in a revision of the 1611 KJV bible.

This is the answer to the question but perhaps we should continue, as we uncover what has always been before the Bible believing people of the earth. Wake up and realize, the name of our Savior is in the Torah and is seen as YaHoshua, and as Yeshua (to be pronounced YaHshua). I prefer YaHshua, some say YaHushua but we are talking about transliterations and this must not be forgotten. The Name is not hidden, only ignored and refused. For the Jew it suggests that YaHshua is the Savior of the people, for the Christians it means nothing, for the most part, as it is another name altogether form the name they preach and teach. So, I will not stop here, being satisfied the question has been answered but we should go into some more detail. I know those refusing this will do just that, so be it.

There is an interesting message to the Church of Philidelphia --

(Rev 3:8) I know thy works: behold, I have set before thee an open door, and no man can shut it: for thou hast a little strength, and hast kept my word, and hast not denied my name.

Everyone I know wants to be part of this Church, as it is stated they will be saved from the "time of trouble" or called by some, "the tribulation". But look at the two characteristics of this Church and ask yourself, is this the Christian church you see today?

Characteristic number one: Of "little strength", not some colossal, mega work.
Characteristic number two: They are a people, few, and "have not denied His Name".

Characteristic number three: A people saved or spared from the "time of trouble"  -- this may mean that that generation of the Church will have gone to the grave just before the "Great Tribulation" breaks out. Think about it.

One thing I know, YaHshua, of the New Testament, said that in the end days “Many will come in my name and deceived many”, and that is a prophetic statement made by our Savior (Mat 24:5). Really, in the end-days of man’s rule, is to happen and this means the knowledge, concerning His true identity, must become a common knowledge -- and today we are witnessing exactly that. All you have to do is go on the Internet (the open door no man can shut?) and you will see the name issue raging. Yes, the kooks and the false are all there and some of them turn the stomach and some (many) appear to be out of their minds but this is all part and parcel to attempts by Satan and his boys to make this knowledge appear idiotic and a waste of time. In the end the knowledge will become common and this is what this verse is talking about. Our Savior saw what was to come and warned us this would happen and we, as witnesses, can see this happening. I'm sure some of you have noticed how some of the popular Evangelical preachers have been using the name they have received from the Jewish Scribes, Yeshua, interchangeably with the false name, JESUS.

Refuse and deny all you want but the fact remains, our Savior said a time is coming when many will come in His Name. If His Name is not Jesus (easy to prove) then He must have been speaking of another name from to be accepted by the majority of the Christians today -- after all, he did say, "...come in MY NAME". We need to remember, however, this is what the "false preachers" say to Him, and He then denies them, so maybe, just maybe, something else is up here as to know one's personal name is to suggest you know that person intimately -- YaHshua denies them, denying their name.
Is it possible this prophetic statement suggests His name having been lost or rejected, how? Simple, if He were speaking of the name “Jesus” or “Iesus”, or ”Isus”, or “Isous” the end-time statement would not mean anything, as it is common knowledge these names have been used to deceive people for centuries but YaHshua was speaking of a certain time in the future and that time is closing in. This also points out, just because you have this truth is not a sign you have the whole truth, but it is this Name you must call on when the blinders are remove (acts 4:12, Acts 2:21, Php 2:10-11). I know, it is a kind of a catch 22, but there it is, all that will be saved will be saved under the Name given our Savior by His Heavenly Father and not by some name men have made up (John 5:43). "There is no other name found among men (not in Heaven, by which we MUST be saved ..." (Acts 4:12) -- this powerful message proclaimed by the Apostle Peter at the very beginning of the first major conversion and calling to the Messiah and people acted on it. Men have chosen to change his name to something else as opposed to accepting the Name given Him by His Heavenly Father.

A small note here -- the religious Jew, the Ultra and Orthodox Jew say the name Yeshua is the short form of YaHoshua. These same Jews and some Christians supporting the spelling and pronunciation, Yeshua, admit this is an abbreviated (short) form of His Original Name YaHoshua. Don't forget, the proper pronunciation of Yeshua, according to Strong's Hebrew Dictionary H3442, is YaH-shoo-ah, just like the pronunciation of YaHshua but they are saying this is the short and that is their defense in using Yeshua and dropping part of His name, the "H" while complaining in the name of YaHshua the "O" or the "U" is missing and there for is not in the Torah, well, if this is so, and if you deny the pronunciation of Yeshua as YaHshua as the Hebrew dictionary say, then how is it this is correct? YaHshua is a transliteration, a correct transliteration and Yeshua, as pronounced by the Jews and the Christians is not. YaHoshua, or YaHushua, are transliteration also, and are considered Original and this is why some have turned to these two forms, these two transliteration.

I have come across some research that suggests the "O" and the "U" were later additions and if this is true then where are we. I will do a follow up study on this and see where it goes. For now be aware, the Jewish Scribes worked under the biased eye of the Priests and Pharisees that strayed from YHWH and in many cases actually turned to pagan idolatry. This is no secret, just read the Scriptures, the failure of their worship and the adoption of pagan customs and names is recorded there. Read 2 Kings, last few chapters and then turn to Jeremiah 31 and you will see just the tip of what was going on.

It is not Hidden
The name "Joshua" is in the Bible and that is the very Name our Savior was Named at birth. Who has not heard of the Book of Joshua? It is seen or printed in the Torah as YeHoshua, being translated, over the centuries by the English as "JOSHUA", but not in the New Testament -- it is strangely changed to a false name, JESUS -- and name more in common with the Roman Latin, or convoluted Greek distortion, IEOUS. Anything but His birth Name as delivered by the Messenger to both Mary and Joseph (Mat 1:21) Look again at the Hebrew Dictionary definitions I presented earlier in this article and you will see how His Name is seen, written, and pronounced and they all agree.

In the Latin and Greek language the letter "s" is their letter of ownership. Roman and Greek names are notorious for finishing in the letter "s" or "us" . With the Hebrews it is the letter "a", or of the "a" sound, or "ah". This can be explained as a type of dialect, setting the sound of one language apart from another. The vowel letters most favorable to the Hebrew scribes is a, o, and u. The vowel letters most favored by the Romans and Greeks -- e, u, s. Isn't it strange how a name that is supposed to have the short form of the Sacred Name in it is missing a primary letter as seen in the Torah in the name Yeshua, as opposed to YeHshua? Isn't it strange the vowel used in place of this missing letter is an e when it is obvious, from a Jewish point of view, it should be the "a" vowel. When the Torah (not, Toreh) does produce the Name matching the Name given to our Savior, restoring the "H" to its proper place they still supply the "e" over the "a" as the vowel choice, following the Greek scribes -- this is incredible.

Details
Another small detail -- the common teaching among Christians is that the Jews never spoke His Name -- this is just so muck bunk. This wishful thinking fits in nicely with the false teachings concerning names and their importance and use, except when it comes to the false name, Jesus, or the corrupted Yeshua. What is odd, is the Christian teachers will battle tooth and nail over the Name of Jesus being the Name of Salvation until you can prove otherwise then suddenly, names don't matter? What hypocrites, no wonder the secular population find it hard to trust a Christian. Certainly it is the few that give the majority a bad name but the attitude of "tolerance" over sold by the modern preachers has led to the most vocal appearing to be the majority and giving all Christians a black eye. True, not all Christians are what they say they are, they may imagine themselves to be very moral but when it comes to business or taking advantage or of taking from their neighbors they become only Christians on Sundays. I know of some so called Christians that are part of a church group like a business, to make connections to further their own personal lives and fortune -- some call it personal networking.

Sometimes things get lost in the details. Certainly the Name Yeshua and Yehoshua/Yahushua are correct on the surface and proves His Name is in the Bible and is not lost, as some would have you believe -- remember, it is from the Hebrew Scriptures we get our Holy Book, it is from this Holy Book, we call the Scriptures, the Apostles and our Savior taught and from which we have gained the writings known as the Gospels and the Epistles (letters) eventually called the New Testament . Where, then is the consistency between the two, between the Old testament and the New testament, when it comes to rendering the Name of our Creator God, the Name or our Savior, the Name of our Heavenly Father?

It is my short coming that I cannot read Hebrew and must rely on others and sometimes that can be a little misleading, even frustrating, but I do recognized the Name when I see it in Hebrew, and my mind is not block by years of mis-readings and teachers misdirecting my thinking. And in this there is an advantage, however, being on the outside looking in, if you will, as I can see the forest as individual trees, I can see what is plain and in front of me not being prejudiced by those of higher learning already set in their ways. The scholars, over time, begin to assume certain truths just because someone before them said it, or wrote it, so they don't bother to prove anything for themselves. Then something like the truth that the Hebrew of today is not the Hebrew of the ancients and that the Hebrew translations of today are based on the Greek, the LXX and not on Originals which have been lost as a complete work. The Hebrew of today relies on the Greek and the English before them and, of course, fragments and a few scrolls found by accident or by archaeologist in support of what they have now. The Hebrew language itself is of modern invention, so don't let anyone try to one up you with their professed ability of being able to read this created language. Yes, we can learn from it but it is not what many hold it up to be.

I agree with the question concerning the Name YaHshua (this exact spelling) not appearing in the Torah (Five books of Moses) as presented by the scribes/scholars responsible for translating from the ancient Hebrew into other languages and this includes Modern Hebrew but, in fact, this should not be the case -- we see the Name “Yeshua”, and YeHoshua (Joshua, Strong’s H3091 – y’hoshua) in the Torah and as demonstrated earlier, the correct pronunciation of "Yeshua" is supposed to be "YaH-shoo-ah" which is, Yahshua and when we say these are transliterations then where is the problem?

The first book following the Torah (The Law, first five books) is the book of YeHoshua (Joshua, first book of the Prophets). As a believer in the Messiah do you find, or do you see the name “Jesus” anywhere in the Law (Torah) or in the Writings, or the Prophets? No, but we do see Yeshua, Y’Hoshua, Y’Hushua, as some Ultra Orthodox Jews write it, or even Joshua in the English translations by the Jews and the English/Americans, and this is pronounced, YaHshua, and all of these representations are basically a derivation of the same Name all beginning with that all important part of the Tetragrammaton, YaH, and the defining last part meaning “salvation” or “savior”, "WH" – YaH is Salvation and YaH is Savior.
I prefer the Name pronounced as YaHshua not to exclude the YaHushua as is favored by other, for the simple reason our Messiah said He came in His Father's Name, and that it was a Name given to Him by His Father (John 5:43, John 17:12), and in that name, the Name of the Father, is seen complete as YH-shua, not Ye-shua where we see the last half of His Name is left out, dropped. You would agree, I believe, that the Name YHWH appears in the Torah and is rendered as LORD in all caps by English translators and Hebrew scribes -- please notice the Y and the H as the English transliteration of the Hebrew characters and you should see these same characters, or Hebrew letters, as the first two transliterated characters in our Savior's Name.

As you can see in the name "Yeshua" is favored by the Evangelical Christian teachers as they use this to draw a comparison to the name they really want to preach and teach in, the bogus name Jesus, which they claim is derived and the same as. A primary Letter has been dropped from the Name, the Hebrew "H", while it is found in the original Name of the God of Israel, YHWH (LORD) -- this transliteration does not and never does it drop the "H", no one presents this as YeWH, no one. This being the case, would it not seem reasonable the Name "Yeshua" with the missing second letter of the Sacred Name is not correct? The correcting of this error would then be up to the reader or the scribe, and we already see what the scribe has done, yet by the very definition of the Name of Yeshua (YHWH is salvation, or more accurately, YH is Salvation) we must admit a letter has been dropped, still, it would seem, in its pronunciation, some do actually restore the missing letter, mentally or verbally, but most say, YES-hua, not YaH-shoo-ah. YHWH of the Torah is not YeWH any more than Torah is Toreh, is it? No, please, correct me if I am missing something here.

(Mat 11:27) All things are delivered unto me of my Father: and no man knoweth the Son, but the Father; neither knoweth any man the Father, save the Son, and he to whomsoever the Son will reveal him.

The Second Witness

(Heb 2:12) Saying, I will declare thy name (the Father’s) unto my brethren, in the midst of the church will I sing praise unto thee.
