Flee to Petra?
Q: There is a site that is full of interesting information, by a woman, Jane E. Lythgoe, http://yehweh.org/profile/Jane presenting studies in the Name of our Creator and Hebrew Letter (character) studies with meanings.  This is a type of code deciphering, of course, but very interesting and revealing in many cases, especially those having to do with names.  But I was wondering, if you know about her and her teachings about escaping the coming Tribulation by going to Petra, in Jordan?  What are your thoughts on this, thanks
A:  I went to this site as I am always interested in any information and revelations concerning our Savior’s true identity and while I really enjoyed this site, in the area of Hebrew Letters and names, we need to be aware that there is also a lot that is not right about this site.  I do not want to get into all of the objection, as the objections or disagreements are about equal to those things that will make you think, and then think some more, getting into your bible – remember, prove all things, whether of men, women, or angels.

The author, Jane E. Lythgoe, author of this website is very talented.  While I am fascinated with her work and believe a well-balanced mind can separate the nuggets from the sand, I must point out a couple of glaring problems.  So, if you decide to survey her site read the following and then enter, aware that she has proven herself to be a false prophetess.

A prediction by Jane El Lythgoe:
THERE are at least 15 heavenly signs between 2014 and 2019 that show we need to flee to Petra in 2016. Believers need to go to Judea then Jordan. They need to be sealed on Mt Zion with the out-poured Holy Spirit (oil) over 45 days (1335 - 1290), between Passover on April 23, 2016 and June 7, 2016 when the Abomination of Desolation occurs. Moses and Elijah (the sellers of oil) will appear at Passover to issue the last oil to the Wise Virgins (men, women and children).
The believers will then need to flee to Petra, Jordan over 30 days (1290 - 1260), during mid-summer, from the day of the Abomination of Desolation on June 7, 2016, until July 7, 2016 when the 3.5 Year Great Tribulation starts.

My Comments:  Of course, armchair quarter backing is always easy.  I do wonder however, why she has left this post on her site?  This is July 10th and nothing to match her predictions.  I wonder how many people actually managed to make their way to Judah for the Holy anointing and then on to Petra?

There are many things I can agree with at this site, like the false teaching that believers will be “raptured” away to Heaven and escape the days and times of trouble, a view she is adamantly opposed to – she does not believe in the Rapture Doctrine and good for her on that point.  Some call the “Rapture” doctrine the “Escape” doctrine and what Jane E. has done is to exchange one escape doctrine for another.  She says we, or believers like her, will escape to Petra and not next year but this year.

Next, in her personal intro page she has listed some of her beliefs.  In one place she poses the question, “Flat or Globe Earth”?  And she answers, “Flat”, without explanation.    She also reveals that she does not believe in the pre-existence of YaHshua, even though the New Covenant tells us clearly that YaHshua was used to create everything and had always and still is with our Heavenly Father from the Beginning – John 1:1-3, 14; Heb 1:2 and –

(Col 1:16)  For by Him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by Him, and for Him:

It became more and more obvious that her teachings contain very little scripture, and now that I am thinking about it, maybe this site is not such a good place to go after all?  Too much manipulations in making things fit into some kind of world view she has, even in the Hebrew Names Chart, as it turns out.

Her reasoning rambles around tying totally different things together to mean something she sees in some kind of colored puzzle.  Here is a video link to listen to her ramblings.

She is setting dates not way off in the future but dates that are current, even past, still her posts are still up proving her errors.  I do wonder how many people sold all they had and moved to Petra?  Really?  That is what she was telling people to do to escape the Great Tribulations.  She talks about people escaping into the rocks, forgetting that the 5th Seal does say what she is saying or suggesting.  These are not people escaping into a protection program but people running into the caves and mountains out of fear, fear of HIM, and they are begging the rocks to fall on them for fear of facing God.  Her vision is nothing like what is really going to happen – read it yourself.

(Rev 6:12-13)  And I beheld when He had opened the sixth seal, and, lo, there was a great earthquake; and the sun became black as sackcloth of hair, and the moon became as blood; And the stars of heaven fell unto the earth, even as a fig tree casts her untimely figs, when she is shaken of a mighty wind.
(Rev 6:14)  And the heaven departed as a scroll when it is rolled together; and every mountain and island were moved out of their places.
(Rev 6:15-17)  And the kings of the earth, and the great men, and the rich men, and the chief captains, and the mighty men, and every bondman, and every free man, hid themselves in the dens and in the rocks of the mountains;  And said to the mountains and rocks, Fall on us, and hide us from the face of Him that sits on the throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb: For the great day of His wrath is come; and who shall be able to stand?

The Earth is going to shake, from top to bottom, and those hiding in dens and rocks and mountains, like Petra, are not the saved but the fearful humans afraid of His coming, and notice who these people are – Kings of the earth, great men, rich men, bondmen and free men – NOT believers.
My initial thought was good and I really liked the site, it had some appeal and some interesting things to consider concerning the name of our Savior, but now the negatives have far outweighed the positives.  Reminds me of what our Lord said in Matthew 24:5.
